Officer Adrian Wheeler

Adrian Wheeler was raised in Louisville and graduated from Southern High School. After graduation, he attended Northern Kentucky University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, and a Commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Throughout 27 years of service in both the active Army and the Kentucky Army National Guard, his overseas deployments included serving as a Platoon Leader in Bosnia, a Company Commander during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and a Provost Marshall in Saudi Arabia. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Airborne School, Engineer Officer Basic Course, and Military Police Officer Advanced Course. As a Major from 2010-2011, Adrian attended the resident Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth Kansas, where he also earned his Master’s degree in Administration.

In 1998, Adrian began his law enforcement career with the Louisville Police Department. Throughout his career, he served in Patrol of the 4th and 5th Divisions, which includes the areas of Old Louisville, Germantown, Crescent Hill and the Highlands. As a Police Training Officer (PTO), Adrian trained, mentored, and evaluated new police officers following their graduation from the LMPD Training Academy. His training and certifications include the Police Mountain Bike Course, Crisis Intervention Team, RADAR, and the PTO Course. Adrian retired from LMPD in September 2018 before joining the Middletown Police Department in 2019.
